The Marine Exploration Group Australia Divers is an independent club aimed at people who want to want more than that offered by their local dive shop.
MEGA Divers aim to improve their knowledge and enjoyment of our underwater world, be that through talks, videos, experiencing new site or assistanting researchers.
Mega Divers are not just another dive club, it is a group of passionate individuals who enjoy everything from nudiibranch counts to cave or deep wreck exploration.
The club is safety focused with all members needing to obtain their rescue qualification. First Aid, oxygen resus and rescue training are just three courses offered by the club. With our inhouse instructors, members can do everything from advanced open water to advanced trimix, but most importantly be believe in peer mentoring to help you perfect your knowledge and skills.
The club tries to make every dive a training dive, be that practicing a single skill at the end of a dive, or making the dive count towards a qualification.
The club tries to use member's boats were possible, helping keep cost down. For example, we have a 6.8m RIB which we uses for trips up and down the east coast. Using our own boat, means that divers are not pushed to follow a dive master and not scheduled to be in and out of the water at a set time. If you use multiple tanks, a scooter or a rebreather, that's also fine.
MEGA Divers originated in the Gold Coast, Australia, but is already growing with members and instructors in different regions and states looking towards their setting up their own chapter.
